The tunnelling of a long-time (about 100 μs) frequency-modulated electromagnetic pulse through a one-dimensional active dielectric photonic crystal and the influence of the frequency modulation of the wavepacket on its time delay and peak velocity is theoretically investigated. The possibility of tuning the characteristics of the transmitted pulse using frequency modulationis demonstrated.
